I created this bracelet for the EBW May 2011 Challenge, "Lord of the Rings".
"Lord of the Rings" Trilogy by J.R. Tolkien depicts the fictional world of Middle-earth in a fantasy fiction. The Ring means power. The characters embark on a quest to destroy the One Ring. But in the War of the Ring the Free Peoples of Middle-earth are ultimately victorious. When the War of the Ring ends the main character is crowned King and marries his long-time love.
The story is richly inspired by philology, mythology, religion. The imaginary world created by Tolkien shows good and evil, loyalty and treason, wizards, kings and princes. It includes attacks and battle, love and wedding, death and funeral, treasures and blood.
The symbolism of the story inspired my bracelet. I chose metallic gray and bright red to embody the spirit of war. A Heart is at the core of the piece, eternal love, beyond war and chaos.
