FACT: The Tiki Gods were rescued from the thrift shop. The bookends were made from scrap lumber, and the little button dental additions were also thrift store finds. I'm into painting Tiki Gods white, these days, and I washed the book ends with a few layers of paint to give them the look of the beach. The little button dental pieces took longer to appear on my creative radar, but when they did I knew they were right because they repeat all those Tiki God teeth.
Then I stenciled and shadowed the KON TIKI letters. This is one of those OOAK projects when, yep, I pat myself on the back and say "You done good on this one, Elisa."
FICTION: Charlotte's little string bikini kept breaking, but in Tahiti, hey, it was no big deal.
And all those beautiful Tiki Gods kept running to her rescue, and bringing her drinks with rum and Papaya and Pineapple. She wondered if there was some sort of cottage industry she could embark on that would enable her to stay so she'd never have to return to her cubicle in Hoboken.
