Oceana Brings to life the living breathing coral reefs. Full of color and life every where you look there is sea life, ocean plants brought to life through color, depth and texture.
It is about 16" x 14"
I spent four months hand beading this. I used a mixture of beading techniques including peyote, net stiching and raised texture beading. I added lampwork beads made from some wonderful artists.
Each bead was hand threaded and sewn into the fabric. I used cornflake pearls, lampwork beads, seed beads, swarvoski crystal, shells, fringe / bubble beads and so much more....
As an artist I work with Mixed Media and mostly polymer clay. I have loved working with beads and including them in my artwork but it was not until last year that I was taught by Jody Young that I could do so much more with them. I am mostly blind in my right eye and I never thought I could do such work until I took her class.
