This basket is made using a technique that actually braids the weavers as the sides are woven. This produces not only a highly textured surface on the outside, but a wonderful chevron pattern on the inside. It is accented with one row of the braidweave worked in tangerine, dark green and walnut hand-dyed reed. The handle is wrapped in matching colors.
This basket made of natural and dyed reed, measures 14 inches long, 11 inches wide, 5 inches deep, and 11" high at the top of the handle.
As the artist, I personally complete each step of the process, including dying the reed and weaving the basket. Each basket is created in a smoke free, pet free environment. The completed basket is then signed and numbered.
