A gorgeous sagger fired clay donut is the focal for this playful necklace (Lalita means "playful" in Sanskrit). To complement the colors in the donut, I used matte and shiny copper delicas to create an ndebele rope (aka tubular herringbone); and then I added some flirty fringe tipped with faux pearls to the end of the rope that fits through the donut.

The clay donut was created by the incredibly talented Kristie Roeder (aka artisanclay), and it has a beautiful earthy look that I just love. Both sides are equally lovely, but they're very different from each other; so you can get a different look just by changing the way you wear it. One end of the ndebele rope is permanently attached to the donut; the other end is fringed and slides easily in the donut's hole, allowing you to wear this piece in several different lengths. The rope is long enough that you can fit it over your head, so you won't have to pull the fringed end through the donut each time.
