In the land of Middle Earth, the forest of Lothlorien is a realm of the Elves. It is ruled by a descendant of Elf royalty named Galadriel, who possesses the powers of telepathy.
Many miles to the West of Lothlorien, the Dwarves of Middle Earth long toiled in the mines of Moria deep within the Misty Mountains, in search of mithril - an incredibly strong, lightweight, beautiful ore, and Middle Earth's most rare and precious metal.
Before the final defeat of Sauron, Dwarves and Elves lived an uneasy coexistence with each other. But both ultimately proved to be brave and steadfast defenders of Middle Earth against the forces of evil.
I envisioned my entry in this challenge to be a collaboration between the Dwarves and Elves of Middle Earth. A symbol of the triumph of good over evil, It represents the last of the Dwarves' mithril from Moria, given to the Elves as a gesture of friendship, and crafted by Elvish metalsmiths into this: A gift for Galadriel in gratitude for her role in aiding the quest of the Fellowship of the Ring.
