This was painted in St-Augustin de Portneuf, just ouside of st-foy on the norh shore of the st-Lawrence river. The town is on the river and so agreable to drive through. I was visiting a friend close by and after driving by this beautiful scenery on a rainy day just at the beginning of fall and I decided I would return the following day to paint what I had seen and this painting is a result of another beautiful day spent in this village.
The colors of this painting are much deeper in reality.

The sides of the canvas (3/4 inch) are painted black so that it can be hung without a frame.
