"Number please!" This phone made by Stromberg Carlson is certainly a classic. The simple, black deco styling will stand out in any decor. The company was founded by Alfred Stromberg and Androv Carlson in 1894. They became the largest supplier of phones to independent companies. This is a Model 1243W and is stamped on the bottom; the cradle is marked Stromberg Carlson. It has a metal body with cut corners and a bakelite handset. Base measures 5 1/2" wide, 8" deep, and it stands 5 1/2" tall.
In nice vintage condition, but would need restoration to put it back into service and the bottom is marked "NO BELL." There is very little paint loss, mostly on the cradle. Has a cloth covered electrical cord which is only fraying where it enters the plug and the phone base. Handset cord has a split to the rubber where it enters the base.
