Some Facts About the Beads Used in this Bracelet:
Krobo powder glass beads are generally made in Ghana by the Ashanti and Krobo tribes in the early to mid 1900's. Krobo beads are made from powder glass, which comes from finely ground glass most commonly from recycled broken bottles and other scrap glass. They are made in vertical molds. Each mold is filled with finely ground glass which is layered to create different colorful patterns. The beads are fired in clay kilns until the recycled glass fuses.
