This created from a stoneware clay. The sprigs have been textured and iron oxide was rubbed into the recesses. This was gas fired in reduction to 2350 degrees. Other than the rubbed in iron oxide, this bead is unglazed.

It is 15 mm hole to hole and 14 mm at its widest The hole is approx. 1 mm..

I measure and shape by hand, rolling the clay by hand, so each is unique to itself. Each is bisque fired, glazed in detail, and refired in my kiln in my Fort Worth Home Studio.

I have discovered over time that each batch of beads fires in the kiln differently depending on the season, temperature, and humidity, and barometric pressure.

--------Inches -vs- Millimeters----------
1 inch = 25 mm
1/2 inch = approx. 12 mm.
