My rosaritas are vintage or antique rosaries recycled into something different.

The Reliquary Rosarita for Urchin Boy commemorates this famous sideshow attraction who was merely an eye. He traveled with several notable sideshows and was married to another member of the venue, Eyelene the Cyclops woman. Urchin Boy and Eyelene were frequent guests of prestigious salons in Paris and New York. When they retired from their careers as some of the world's most famous sideshow freaks, the couple moved to Eyeland, a small island on the Florida coast where they lived peacefully by the sea until they passed away in the late 1920's.

An approximately 21" vintage to antique brass rosary chain holds a vintage pot metal compact containing Urchin Boy's remains on crimson velvet. A window has been cut into the compact and a cab mounting has been fitted with a plastic watch crystal to form the window. The dangle from the compact has a natural rock bead and an antique brass religious medal.

Most of the materials in my jewelry pieces are in their used, rustic, weathered, unpolished vintage and antique states. Please look carefully at the pictures. The metals are often mixed and intentionally do not match.
