This small alligator planter would be great for a small plant or a starter plant, and as he is hollow inside all the way down and completely glazed inside and out, he could also work as a vase.
Previously I had picked up five pieces of greenware at my local ceramic supply store; I could not resist the gator planters in different sizes; recently I was able to get another three. This is the second smallest of the sizes (slightly bigger than the smallest, and about half the size of the next largest, as seen in the last photograph).
He is glazed in non-toxic glazes and can be cleaned in hot soapy water or even run through the dishwasher.
Approximate Height: 5.25 inches
Approximate Width: 2.75 inches (at opening)
Approximate Weight: 8 oz
While I do own the majority of the molds for the ceramics I make, I did find this piece in greenware (post-pouring, pre-firing). I cleaned it, fired it in my kiln, glazed it, and fired it again. Because I do not own the mold for this, unless I can acquire more in greenware, this is likely to be a one-time offering.
