This is the first book *ever* to show what amazing things can be done with apoxie clay and epoxy clay (these are very similar but just have different names).
Book description:
It's all about creating the curious. Inside this book, you will be introduced to 26 stepped-out projects, each offering new techniques using epoxy clay. Two-part epoxy clay can be sculpted and manipulated in a variety of ways and is extremely durable when cured, resulting in amazing effects.
You will learn the basics of working with this new craft medium and then dive into the projects, which feature sculpted & molded epoxy clay projects, altered art & found object assemblage. Projects include mixed-media pieces such as a small totem, curio cabinet and fish tank, along with personal style and jewelry items fashioned in a curious, Victorian Gothic style.
ABOUT THE RESIN CLAY PENDANTS WORKSHOP:
Discover the magical properties of this indispensable art material while creating small scale pendants! We'll explore how to create mosaics without grout, make and fill bezels with ephemera, photos and little embedded treasures, learn progressive building of pendants with cured and uncured clay, my own recipes and tips for cool surface effects, play with other newer art materials and learn how to add found objects for stunning mixed media masterpieces to wear!
ABOUT THE VINTAGE GENT TEXTURED RESIN WORKSHOP:
Take a journey of discovery and try some techniques we've developed that will give you a chance to work with very versatile art materials you may not be familiar with such as epoxy clays, tinted liquid resin and two-part silicone molds.
We will make a two part creation with very different effects on the front and back. One technique we'll use results in a heavily textured resin cover that creates an amazing play of light on the surface of the image underneath. You'll also learn how to alter this textured surface to either obscure or bring focus to different areas of the underlying image.
The back will be made with several fairly new art materials and will have a very nice patina affect somewhat resembling old tooled leather.
Then we'll rivet everything together with stacked washers and a wire hanger we’ve made sandwiched in between. Finish it off any way you'd like perhaps with a heavy leather cord, silk ribbons or a beaded chain.
ABOUT OUR ONLINE WORKSHOPS:
There is no time limit to the workshop. It is designed to run continuously so you can view them any time and work at whatever pace is good for you. This workshops has videos, supply lists, detailed photos, forums to discuss the project(s) and teacher access for help and answering questions. There is a place to share work in progress and finished pieces with the group. If we ever decide to discontinue a workshop you will have at least three months’ notice.
