Carved from aspen branches collected in the mountains of Arizona and New Mexico this piece tells the story of one magical night in the desert. The figure holds a book made with three of my miniature paintings on Mexican amate bark paper suspended between sheets of natural mica and then framed with antique tin. It's painted with acrylic and metal leaf and coated with a light layer of wax.

The figure is built in sections to accommodate shipping. The deer comes out of the figure's hand, torso comes off leg section and legs are removed from base. An added benefit to this is that the piece can turn at the waist to be displayed at different angles
