Why upscale a dress into a hat? Baby dresses have such a short life cycle that it is usually worn just once or twice before being donated or discarded. I see the dress as a wonderful opportunity to create. What I look for is a fabric that I know will transfer well into a fascinator, as well as details like buckles, buttons, zippers and sashes, and extras like slips and tulle. After that, I let my imagination take over.
