Vintage Toy Plastic Carousel in red and yellow. Six children move up and down on little horses as the carousal rotates when you turn the crank handle. Decorated with elephants, seals, clowns, camels, and more circus animals. Great representation of life under the big top. No makers mark was found, only a patent number on the cardboard bottom. Research shows it was made in 1949 and originally played music too. We were unable to get the music to play.

The "seats" are traditionally in the form of rows of wooden horses or other animals mounted on posts, many of which are moved up and down via gearwork to simulate galloping, to the accompaniment of looped circus music." Acme and Thomas Toy Companies both made wonderful Ferris Wheels very similar in style to this carousel, but I was unable to find this exact item..

Measures: 8" in height x 6-3/4" at base

Condition: Good with typical age wear. Items is fragile, and the crank handle does not work all the time. The red carousal is somewhat loose from the yellow bottom. Otherwise a fantastic little toy.
