Long before DIY, there was How-To-Do-It.
(Although HTDI just doesn’t have the same ring to it!)

Just looking at this 1961 Mechanix Illustrated Encyclopedia cover takes me back to the days of helping my Dad in the garage and coming home from school to find my Mom repainting the kitchen chairs (again!)

I know I owe my handiness to parents who showed me 'How-To' and to books like these that were chockfull of empowering skills and can-do spirit. Handmade from a ‘well-loved’ or ‘remarkable preserved’ vintage hardcover find, my clock is ready to hang out at your house. It can also be perched upon a table-top easel as a conversation, as well as a time, piece.

I made this Retro clock from HTDI Encyclopedia Volume #10, Ho-La which wouldn’t be complete without Lawn Care. Dad mows while Mom and the kids tend the flower beds.

‘Tis the season to celebrate greener grass and brighter blooms, so spring for a bit of nostalgia for those picture pretty days. Mom's Day and Dad's Day are both coming up!

9 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 1" deep. Battery included!
