No. 24 is actually no. 4 in a series of Marie Antoinette mini theatre mannequins I have made.

This paper mache mannequin sits 16 inches tall. The torso is covered in vintage Sheet music. Her gown is made of an old dress pattern and Duponi raw silk fabric that has been gathered and trimmed in peach vintage French ribbon. I took thin strips of lace, chiffon and ribbon to create the skirt underneath. Here and there I have hung vintage crystals, charms and pearls. Inside the torso is the mini theatre. Marie looks on while her guests begin to dance. A single glass chandelier bead hangs from the center.

The torso holds a secret - do you know what it is? A tiny drawer made from an old matchbox and lined in more vintage paper. So fragile and beautiful. Hide a love note or key to your heart inside. A lovely vintage earring is used for a knob. She is trimmed in gold Dresden and pearls.

Her bustle is made from old stock flower petals and a single crystal hatpin holds it all in place. I topped her off with a champagne cap that I twisted and turned to create hooks for hanging necklaces, earrings or whatever else you like but the "piece de resistance" is the silver and gold birdcage that is trimmed with crystals. Just perfect for my Marie Mannequin. As with all my mannequins, I like to make a little extra "something" to go with it - in this case it is a swan. Not just any swan; this one is very old and covered in clear glitter. I then added layers of Dresden trim and feathers. She sits on a bed of autumn leaves.

NOTE**** The drawer opens and closes but is fragile and should be handled with care.
