This unisex Frock Coat was part of the Pale Court Memorial that Kambriel did in memory of fellow designer and friend Laura Purdy. This coat was one of the treasured items from Laura's fashion label, "The Pale Court" that was left unfinished at the time of Laura's death... Some items were in the very beginning stages of being cut out, while others were partially sewn. Each design was faithfully completed, adding pieces when something was missing, and figuring out the puzzles along the way. Occasionally, there will be small anomalies in the design such as a crush in the velvet due to how they had been stored, or evidence of a different kind of stitch that Laura made. These are all part of the special nature and history of these items.

These items are the last of their kind, and one of Laura's signature woven labels has been sewn into each piece of clothing.
This one of a kind coat is made from a wine cotton brocade with an intricate paisley pattern woven into the design, and has engraved silver metal buttons and black soutache braid trim down the front. It is lined in silvery gray with black velvet accents at the back tail split. The cuffs and pocket flaps (no pockets per Laura's original design) are also elaborately accented with black velvet, black soutache braid trim, and hand beadwork. The coat is designed to be worn open, and has a wonderful look that can run from the elegant French court of Louis XIV up to the Victorian era depending on how it is worn and which items it is paired with.
The chest measures approx. 46" (works on somewhat smaller, or even slightly larger sizes as well as it is worn open at the front), the sleeve length is approx. 22" (measured from edge of shoulder to lower edge of sleeve) - great for showing off the cuffs or the lower edges of the sleeves of what you're wearing underneath, and the overall length is approx. 38" (measured from the nape of the neck to where the coat ends in back). A truly sentimental piece, and very unique design meant to be treasured as part of the Pale Court legacy for years to come.
