3D Printed Modern Jewelry

Perforated surfaces are found throughout architecture from old lattice-works in the Middle East to modern buildings in the West. I thought it would be great to apply to smaller scale jewelry designs and came up with the Perforated Honeycomb Ring.
Here you see it constructed out of a nylon plastic that is formed by an additive layer by layer process known as Selective Laser Sintering (a form of 3D Printing). I designed it to have a break on the bottom of the ring to give it a little more flexibility in terms of size. Each ring is coated with a clear protective finish. The end result is an eye-catching ring that is very lightweight yet surprisingly durable.
This ring is similar to the original Perforated Honeycomb Ring but has a slimmer (less "chunky ring") fit which some prefer. Note the difference in the photo with the side by side comparison.
The ring band measures roughly 1/2 inch in width. It is available in Black and is in stock in the following US ring sizes:
