The attached silk slip underneath also has lace edging. This dress is so beautiful... so Spring! What a find!
size: probably a modern size 2 dress.
measures: approximately 30" drop waist (so it's more like hips), approximately 40" long from the top of the shoulder to the top of the scallop hemline, plus 4" with the scalloped hemline (approximately 44 inches total length).
Condition: The glass beads are in perfect condition and are securely attached. The ribbon flowers and leaves are in perfect condition and securely attached. The twisted vine ribbon edged drop waist is in great condition with the ribbon twisted and attached loosely but well (it is not in need of reattachment... It looks fantastic. This dress is cool.) The lace is in great condition as well and is securely attached everywhere. The under arms are in good condition, but not quite perfect. There is a faint mark, but it is not noticeable unless inspected closely. I actually didn't think there was, but had to make sure considering it's probably been worn more than once in it's hay day. I personally have never tried to clean this dress (and I have not worn it.) The silk on this dress has actually held up pretty well, but there are some very small pin holes and there is a small tear in the silk in a small area right next to where the lace is attached on the second row of the back center bottom scallop. This could be mended or not and it would not effect the look of the dress because it is hidden by the lace. There is some discoloration (but NOT fading) mostly on the front of the skirt, I tried to show it in the second to the last picture. It is in a few other areas too and I'm not sure if cleaning the dress would improve this or not. The built in silk slip is in excellent condition. There is one small 1 inch tear that could be repaired if being worn near the edge where the buttons are, but it wouldn't be necessary unless being worn. All of the buttons are present and (all but the first one which needs one side to be reattached) are attached.
