Mali Wedding Bead Necklace

The brightly colored tear drops that hang here were originally Czech glass beads that were traded in Africa. They are now known as "Wedding Beads," having been worn traditionally in Mali by brides on their wedding day. These beautiful pieces are rich with story and meaning. The Wedding Beads here are focused in tones of blue, yellow, brown and green for an almost ethereal overall feel and are highlighted by turquoise glass beads that a lovely friend gave to me from Bali. The necklace hangs gracefully over the collarbone playing with the beads' sensual shapes and raw textures. The piece comes together with a silver toggle.
