I made this skirt using a modified version of an 1880's "washing" skirt with adjustable lengths that can be let out for washing. The pale blue is dupioni silk. The bright blue is a chinese bamboo pattern aqua satin brocade. The light and dark gold are both dupioni silk and the striped fabric is a silk/satin blend. A very cool and complicated piece!
The top is a separate piece and can be custom fitted for you - or remade to your specifications. It was originally made to fit 38" bust and 29" waist - can be worn over a corset or without. The entire skirt is one piece that slips on and off easily and is worn here with a handmade bustle. (I can make a bustle for you for an additional charge.) The skirt comes in several pieces that can be adjusted for your height and are worn over a simple petticoat (not included). The skirt pieces are worn open at the back so will fit all body types - the opening is then covered by the draping part of the train which is worn over the bustle.
The white cap sleeve top is vintage linen with additional beaded fringe added for contrast.
