Originally published in 1921 by Penn Publishing, this Hampton Publishing book is probably a later printing from the 1930's. It contains 6 full-page color plate illustrations and around 20+ smaller black-and-while illustrations. Each page is accented at top and bottom by a design representing a wreath of laurel.
This book is 7.75 x 9.75 inches and is 261 pages long.
BOOK CONDITION
The cloth cover of the book is solid. There is a very small amount of rubbing on the paste-down illustration and the gilt letting on the spine is worn.
The interior of the book has a gift inscription dated 1942. There is considerable age-related tanning on the plain endpapers and some age-related yellowing of the pages. All the color plate illustrations are intact. The binding is strong and all pages are securely attached. There are no other rips, tears or markings. This book has a bit of an old paper smell -- it isn't musty, but if you hold it up to your nose and you're ultra-sensitive to smells, you'll detect a smell not unlike a back room of a library that holds many vintage books.
