These figures were first being produced as collectible figurines in the 1950s using a unique method of patina on polished brass; the patina is polished off to reveal shiny brass beneath. This version was manufactured completely polished without black patina.

Mint example of an Austrian brass figure with thermometer. This modernist Cow from the 60s is in great condition with good patina. Marked with "handmade in Austria" sticker on the bottom. New old-stock from the 60s.
