Victorian men's ring from the 1880s, engraved with a calligraphic initial. Nearly identical to a ring in the Anthropologie collection, but better, and less than a quarter of the price. Initially, I took this initial to be a very clear and handsome "D". I've just been informed it is quite likely a "B", viewed from the other way around. 10k gold, with a 5 mm segment in the back of at least 12k where the ring has been sized. The stone has surface scratches and a small chip. This is a grand scale ring, originally designed for a man. Also remarkably striking on the forefinger of a woman.
U.S. Size 10.25
