This one of a kind corn is truly brown!
NO! It is not red.
YES! It is actually brown!
This is my first harvest after my first year trying out varieties of heirloom corns! This one of a kind heirloom dent corn is over 100 years old in variety and is unlike any corn you have ever seen before! This corn has been homegrown in my own garden border without chemicals or pesticides!
Towering in brownish red stalks up to 5-6 feet tall, this corn is petite as compared to other massive varieties and will bear 1-4 ears per plant! Cobs grow up to 6-8 inches long with proper care and can be eaten young while still white with a pat of butter (It will NOT be as sweet as those nasty GMO corns that are genetically altered for taste!) or harvested when mature and dry for a tasty flavorful flour corn.
Corn is a manly plant! As long as it receives enough water, it can grow in nearly any soil under any heat!
If ground into flour, the corn will yeild a fragrant, fresh, and flavorful soft brown meal. This brown cornmeal can be used for 'choco' colored cornbreads, tortillas, soups, cakes, or *drumroll*
Whatever you'd like to bake it in, the outcome will be tinted with a stunning brown color by the natural pigments in this one of a kind corn!
My family loves making brown hush puppies, which my daughter has dubbed 'Black Lab Bites'.
At least 15 hand picked seeds per hand designed packet! Seed number is limited as I was only able to plant 3 stalks. Still... that's 15 stalks of tasty corn!
All seeds come from my family garden. We use no chemicals or pesticides!
Shipping costs cover the base shipping and the handling- I had to harvest, dry, and clean each seed pod then pick ever single seed! Not easy!
