Yellow Acetate Nylon or silk Lining with Pastel yellow Moire Sheer Overlay. (my fiber burn test was inconclusive).
Flattering Gathered Bust with Ruffle Trim.
Silk/Fabric Flowers sewn underneath ruffle trim.
Pretty Sheer Shoulder overlay and Puffed Sleeves.
Princess Bodice with gathered maxi skirt.
Tiny hem creates flutter hem.
Underskirt has bias cut- possibly silk.
Side Metal Waldes Brand Zipper.
I dated this dress close to 30s due to cut of skirt, which originally had diamond bias cut insets to allow flutter and flow of dress typical of the era. Unfortunately the bottom of hem was ripped and unwearable, and so I had a seamstress cut and hem it. She used green thread like what was on the original. It may be desirable to make an even shorter hem and it is currently at tea length.
Other than hem referenced above, the fabric is even in wear. The underskirt has one tiny line of wear about 1/4th of an inch long. There are remnants of damage that was cut away, very small like tiny pin heads, maybe abou 6 or 7; It appeared as if hem of skirt had been caught in something and ripped which was again, cut away.
These are very tiny near bottom of lining and aren't visible due to overlay.
There are a few tiny miscellanous spots on lining that are very tiny or faint. They are noticable only at very close inspection.
Seamstress hemed skirt which is acceptable work. The sheer overlay hangs about 1 inch longer than underskirt.
Two .5 inch spots on overlay found about half way down skirt around hem. They are a faint peach color.
Pretty flowers in good condition.
At a glance, this dress is very pretty with flaws noticable only at close inspection.
