This plant offered is Dionaea muscipula, one of the most bizarre plants on the planet. They are native to a 200 mile stretch of North and South Carolina in the USA, (specifically within a 60 mile radius of Wilmington, NC) making them distinctly American!
The plant you receive will be similar -but slightly smaller to the one shown and potted in a 2" pot instead of the 3" pot pictured. It will ship with a plastic cover over the soil and plant for its protection as shown in the photo. You will also receive care instructions with your plant which includes a link to our website where you can download a detailed fact sheet about all the carnivorous plants we offer. You can judge the dimensions by the ruler in the photo - the plant you will receive will be slightly smaller than the one pictured. We ship hundreds of these little guys all over the country, so you can rest assured that it will arrive healthy and hungry!
These plants are outstanding in a glass container as a terrarium, or leave it in the open to catch its prey. Care is easy - as much light as possible, and keep it in standing water, (rain or distilled, please).

They will easily thrive in specific conditions - direct sun is ideal. Water by maintaining an inch or two of water in a tray that the pot sits in. That's it!
We only charge actual shipping cost on purchases and are happy to combine items to save you postage. As many as four of the carnivorous plants can ship together for the same price.
Live plants only ship on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays to avoid sitting in a truck or warehouse over the weekend. If your state borders Illinois, we can also ship on Thursdays.
