I wanted to make a library bag. One that's just the right size for carrying books - and not so wide that skinny paperbacks would tend to get curled up at the bottom. One with straps that are just the right length - long enough to be comfortably slung over the shoulder, but short enough to carry in my hand as a tote bag without touching the ground. One with an extra little pocket inside where my daughter can stash her library card. One that's fun to look at and practical to use. By golly, the Beast Bag is all those things! And it only takes a few hours to make.
