I promise!
Fabulous celluloid purse in pale maize swirled with a hint of grey and white from the 1920's in TOTAL Art Deco style with French paste stones inbedded into the etched Deco design and accented with black painted diamonds and black and orange painted flower in the center with cute little handle. The purse opens up to reveal a little beige silk pocket and mirror....and the faint aroma of perfume....just an exquisite purse from the Gilded Age!
This beauty measures 4 7/8 in. long, 3 in. tall and just under an inch thick. The condition is very, very good-3 darkened stones, and one that looks to be a replacement at the left corner,a hint of wear to the paint-very minor, there are lines at the base of the hinge that I can't decide whether it is a scratch/crack or a line that was put in to keep from stressing the hinge-I never noticed it until looking at it very closely but I've shown that in the photos. Really the only issue of note is the interior-the silk lining is shredded and the silvering on the mirror is mostly gone-there is also a crack in the frame of the mirror-all as shown. One of the best examples of high Deco Style that I've seen, and one that I am more than happy to keep should the reserve be unmet!
