This quilt was made entirely by hand, no sewing machine was used in the process. And you are practically getting 2 quilts in one because this quilt is completely reversible with a very different pattern and a completely new colour scheme on the back.
I used a mixture of very modern batiks in browns, blueish and pinkish greys on the quilt top, which makes this a very masculine quilt ideal for modern homes as a bed quilt or a decorative piece thrown over a couch for example. On the back I used brown, blue, green and turquoise batiks with some hot pinks thrown in.
The patterns both on the front and back are 2 different adapted Logcabin designs.
The quilting is also done entirely by hand in diagonal lines and gives the blocks a nice structured look. But it has not been overquilted to preserve the clean modern feel the quilt has.
This quilt would be perfect as a gift to the man in your life or a son, brother or father. Or it could be used to give your home the modern twist it deserves, thrown over a couch or armchair or even on your bed.
It has not been washed as I wanted to leave it to its new owner to decide the look. Washing creates a more antique wrinkled effect that I like, but others may not.
I thoroughly enjoyed making this quilt over several months and hope it will find a good new home.
