Lots of love and attention to detail go into each little structure. This miniature home has been hand cut and sanded from Northern Wisconsin Basswood, it is 4" tall and 1.5" wide. It features 12 windows with a total of 48 window panes that each have been carefully woodburned onto the block. Two carefully shaped chimneys have been attached to the peak the pitched roof. It has then been coated in a layer of white casein paint, which creates a lovely contrast with the dark burn of the windows, and then sanded down lightly once more for a more primitive appearance. Lastly it is coated in a water based finishing varnish to protect the piece. The back of each piece has a small impression in the lower corner which I use as a signature to mark my work.
