This full sheet of 50 unused 15 cent vintage postage stamps honors veterans of the Vietnam War. They were issued on November 11, 1979 and were designed by Steven Donahos.

(IMPORTANT: Please see our vacation note regarding our shipping schedule for April 2014 at the end of this listing.)

These stamps were released on Veteran’s Day in 1979 to honor the veterans of the Vietnam War. They show the ribbon of the Vietnam Service Medal.

The yellow ribbon with three vertical red stripes suggests the color of the flag of the Republic of Vietnam. The green side borders allude to the jungles of Vietnam. This award was awarded to all members of the Armed Forces of the United States that served in Vietnam & contiguous waters or airspace after July 3, 1965 through March 28, 1973.

The yellow, green, and red Service Ribbon is set on a taupe background with a bar of red, white and blue diagonally across the top left corner. Verbiage on the stamp reads, “USA 15c” in white above the ribbon; “Honoring Vietnam Veterans Nov 11 1979” in white below the ribbon.

Each stamp measures 1” tall x 1 5/8” wide (2.5cm x 4.1cm). The entire sheet measures 10 1/4" tall x 9" wide (26.0cm x 22.9cm).

These stamps are “mint” – meaning they have never been used. They have the original glue.

My grand-aunt collected these. She was not a “true” stamp collector & basically stored them in manila envelopes. Whenever the USPS came out with a new stamp – especially a commemorative one – she purchased at least one sheet & put them away in her envelopes.

These stamps are great for collectors both young and old alike. Additionally, they’d be great for paper crafting & jewelry making or anywhere else your creativity wants to take you. They are also a great gift for someone born on the day the stamps were issued. Frame them and give them as a nice and thoughtful gift – or keep them for yourself.

I do have hundreds of stamps. If there is a specific one you’re looking for feel free to contact me and I’ll see if I have the one you need.

Thanks for stopping by! Thank a veteran today.

We will be away from 4/7/14 through 5/2/14 with no or limited internet access. It is an exciting time for us behind the scenes at 4Get-Me-Not Treasures. Our house has sold which is one of the few reasons we will be away – the time has come for us to really begin the search for our “forever” home…and God willing, find it! We’ll also be spending Easter with our grandbabies & will take them on a little vacation too so we can have some quality time and mommy & daddy can get some much needed quiet time :)

4Get-Me-Not Treasures will remain open for your reminiscing and viewing pleasure during this time. However, we will not be shipping during this time – shipping will be suspended. Shipping will resume on 5/5/14 so proper care in packaging and communication with all customers can meet our high expectations. We expect to be "back to normal" with both communications and shipping by 5/6/14.

Our last shipping day prior to our departure will be Friday, 4/4/14. Orders received by noon on Friday should be able to be processed and shipped on April 4th.

Thank you for visiting. We hope you enjoyed your visit and will visit again. Have a wonderful day!
