i printed this piece with batik wax and then dyed it by hand. i printed my swallows pattern onto it, and then dyed it a soft green with some blue hints in it.
boiling out the wax produces a very stable fabric and a soft hand. it also allows me to reuse my wax and it eliminates the chemical process by which so many batiks are made.
you can machine wash and dry this fabric. it won't shrink, fade or bleed.
