The book tells the story of a murder by the poolside. It appears that Gerda has shot her husband, John--but did she really? Poirot arrives late in the novel to sort out the "dark threads of hate and intrigue" (according to the dust jacket). This book was later published as Murder After Hours and turned into a play and then a television movie.
The book itself is in very good condition, with a tight binding; cloth-covered cover with maroon letters and just a little wear on the spine; pages with no tears or writing; and yellowed end papers with the owner's name neatly written in the front. The dust jacket is in one piece with some tears and wrinkles on the spine and edges. There is some water damage, evident on the back and inside. The design is just wonderful.
