This tiny hand-built dish - one of my "Cosmic Tortilla" series - is made of creamy white stoneware clay, with a bold, off-kilter burst of graphic black dots, some of which are slightly raised. The edges are hand-formed, paper thin and slightly wavy. Interior is glazed in a glossy clear, and the exterior is left matte and unglazed. One of a kind. These fragile little dishes take a lot of time, care and patience to form, dry, decorate and fire.

Can be used as a dish to hold sauce, gari (pickled ginger for sushi), wasabi and soy, etc. I also love to use these as symbolic gifts - on the occasion of a baby's birth, as a graduation present, a gift for a bride-to-be - they are delicious little tactile art pieces that can hold something precious, or decorate your dressing-table.

Clay: cream-colored/white
Glaze: Black mason stain and clear glossy
Dimensions: 3" diameter; 1/2" height

** Additional information about the proper care of ceramic pieces **

My ceramic pieces are food-, oven- and microwave safe. Wash with warm soapy water and dry the piece by hand as it is gentler on the glaze surface.
