Numbers are Clear coated for resistance to outdoor elements. (this is a resistance coating not a guarantee against rust.) Maintenance may be needed over time to prevent rusting as with any metal item outdoors. Metal item left outdoors to the natural elements will rust. Your climate and area placed will determine how often you may need to reapply a protective coating and how soon it may rust. You will receive care instructions with your number for proper maintenance .
