This unique handmade tile was created by first pressing one of my decorative 4" tiles into a slab of wet clay, and then pressing one of my small ornament moulds into the center. The larger tile has an organic circles and line mosaic pattern impressed, and is glazed in my fern green crackle. The center image is of a little frog drummer and has my claret crackle glaze. The edges of this tile are also glazed, which makes it the perfect wall ornament. There is a notch in the back for hanging.
This tile measures approximately 4 1/2" square, and bulges slightly at the center edges where it was pushed out when I pressed the smaller frog mould into it, adding another decorative element to it.
I carve my tiles in wax, and then pour plaster moulds. You can see the carving process in action here -
