My handmade ear cuffs don't require any ear piercing. They wrap around the edge of the ear and rest just above the earlobe. Since they do not pierce or penetrate the body, there is less concern about allergic reactions.
All you have to do is slide it on.
Start at the top of the ear and slide downward as you turn it in over the cartilage. Then adjust to rest on the cartilage just above the earlobe. All of our ear cuffs have a gap of approximately 3.5mm. This mostly fits the average ear. To test the fit, try it on, and pull it sideways. A good fit will not slip off too easily. If the fit is poor, adjustment may be made by squeezing the gap closer, or widening it about 0.5mm, it is less than 1/32 inch. That is enough to change the size.
