A variation of the traditional three-legged milking stool, we've updated the design with quirky but steady asymmetry for a style that works everywhere from modern, to rustic, to farmhouse retro. The seat is hand hewn, and the legs are turned in our shop. All hand rubbed with fine, pure linseed oil for a tough but natural finish. Bring it home and set it by your wood stove while you whittle. Signed and numbered underneath. Let us know if you require additional engraving.

Skillful attention to detail and commitment to sustainability are behind everything we make at Gray Works. All products receive the same painstaking handwork as our highest-end custom made furniture. Each goes through several stages of refinement to create the overall form and function of a sculptural, "rustico moderno" object. All finishes are applied via several hand-rubbings of natural, organic, and highest grade oils to ensure a smooth, professional surface. The wood is carefully selected and shaped to highlight spectacular grain, knots, wormholes, and the "noble rot" of spalted wood. We aim for functionality, but also a level of deft design that brings our objects into the realm of art.
ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS
All of our products are one-of-a-kind and handmade in our small studio in Woodstock, NY. We use only locally and sustainably harvested or salvaged American hardwoods, and natural, organic, food safe finishes. The hardwoods we choose contain beautiful, naturally occurring figurations that add to the unique loveliness of each piece.
