This stool is my own design, inspired by a medley of classic American motifs. Its exclusive use of red oak with walnut-pinned joints is a nod to the Arts & Crafts movement, while the woven Shaker tape seat recalls the simplicity of colonial times. The gently beveled edges and pyramid caps on the legs are subtle embellishments that give just a touch of Mission styling. All in all, a melting pot of American influences that cooperate in simple sophistication.
I call this my Fireside Stool because it seems so at-home on the hearth, just waiting for autumn's first fire. A perfect place to rest while stoking the embers or roasting a marshmallow. When not in use, the stools will stack in alternating directions, giving you plenty of room to sweep up the ashes and lay the next fire.
The stools are 12" tall (the seat being 10-1/2" off the ground) with overall dimensions of 13" x 17". The stool shown is woven with beige and natural tape, in a herringbone pattern. Other colors and weave styles are available. Discounts are available for matched sets of two or more.
Custom sizing is available and priced upon request.
