12"x12"

This piece would brighten up any bedroom or dining room. There is a wood frame, painted in gold, making the piece ready to hang.

Before I work I make many sheets of patterned paper by laying down string, lace and yarn onto construction paper and spraying over them with spray paint. After making dozens of these papers I cut out shapes, I move them and rearrange them until they feel balanced.

For this piece I cut out the same shape and overlapped them on top of each other, resembling a braid or fish tail. Each piece is different from the other.
