To sage a space you simply light the dried sage leaf individually giving it just a moment to burn, and then you blow out the flame. You can then place the sage in a fire proof dish and allow it to smoke or you can walk about the room(s) using the smoke to “cleanse” the environment. You can also burn sage on charcoal briquets.
Another common practice is to circle the smoking sage around your body to purify your aura and personal energy. People do this before ritual or meditation.
White Sage is an excellent incense to burn for insomnia, depression and stress. I also find it helpful for emotional heartache/heartbreak - holding the smoking sage over the heart chakra.
This is one Native American herb/ritual that has miraculously survived through the past. Salvia Apiana is a very unique sage that grows in very few areas of the world. It is also extremely important to buy your sage from a reliable environmentalist and herbalist who knows how to collect this plant without doing harm to its sustainability and survival. I am a California herbalist who gathers this plant with extreme respect. I drive far and wide only to gather small amounts from many plants - and only from large plants, never small plants.
This is a 28 gram bag of loose dried white sage leaves.
