I found this exquisite embroidered floral applique right here on etsy in twigandberries shop. It was from an old store's stock, and I loved it so much I bought it right away, even tho' I didn't know what I'd do with it. Then, a couple of years later, II found this turquoise moire faille. I pulled out the applique and it told me it just had to be on the front of an oval bag made of the moire faille! So I made the bag with the applique hand sewn onto it and, well, here it is - perfect for a MOB purse, a wedding purse or a prom purse - even great as the bride's money dance purse.
This bag measures 10 3/4" (27.3 cm) long x 7 1/2" (19.1 cm) wide. It's a little longer (deeper) than most of my bags made on this pattern to accomodate the applique. When drawstrings are pulled shut, there are 8" (20.3 cm) from your wrist to the top of the bag. I've lined it in silky lining fabric and used turquoise satin ribbon for the drawstrings. As always, ribbon ends are treated so they won't fray. To see the sheen of the moire faille best, click on the last photo above.
The beads are a prop for photos only and are not included with the purse.
