"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely flowers..."
A beautiful and unique letterpress print from my own original artwork, specially printed in a limited edition run of 250 on a vintage Heidelberg press, giving a wonderful debossed look and feel (see the close up pictures to get an idea of the texture). Printed in lush black ink on white 100% cotton 300gsm Somerset paper, A4 size (210 x 297 mm, 8.3 x 11.7 inches). Each print is signed and numbered in pencil to the bottom right-hand corner- if you would like a particular edition number just let me know and I'll happily oblige, if that number is still available.
Inspired by Shakespeare's "seven ages of man" speech from As You Like It, and my enduring love for the much-maligned dandelion, this little vintage-style pen-and-ink illustration shows the passing of time through the figure of a dandelion-headed Edwardian English gent, from tiny seed through to an old head blowing into the wind, starting the cycle all over again.
Perfect for framing (see third image), and would make a wonderful gift for someone who likes surreal, quirky and unique images.
Will be shipped in a large rigid envelope for protection.
A copy of this artwork forms part of a permanent collection of artworks installed at the newly re-opened Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon (look out for it if you visit!).
Thanks!
Jon
