I started with an old pair of shoes picked up at the Salvation Army, some satin ribbon in the most perfect shade of red, and about a hundred dollars worth of faux ruby gemstones (those darned things are expensive!). The shoes can be displayed with or without the top, or if you're a size 5.5 and adventurous... go ahead and wear them around town. I think I'm going to make myself a pair in pink!
