This listing is for a 1-ounce jar of Tiger Balm Salve. Tiger Balm is a remedy from China and has many different variations, but all are meant to have the same action. It was, and still is, used as a muscle rub to relieve pain of fighters after sparring. It works for any kind of muscle and joint pain, including arthritis, because it's action is analgesic (numbing), and both warming and cooling simultaneously. Its kind of like an all-natural icy-hot that smells a whole lot better. Most people find the smell very pleasant. The salve is best for applying directly on the skin. I also find it is very useful as a decongestant for opening the sinus', whether placed under the nose (not in the nose as this can cause burning), or over the chest and throat. It is also useful for people who suffer with tension headaches characterized by a tight sensation, sensitivity to light and noise, and a sharp pain resonating throughout the head. For this purpose I apply it to to the sinus pressure points, especially the temples and forehead. It is also useful as a massage for tired feet or a stiff neck, or for cramping associated with the menstrual cycle (for which I find it to be invaluable).
Note: this product may cause a burning or tingling sensatiion and should not be applied to sensitive skin areas. DO NOT LET PRODUCT COME INTO CONTACT WITH MUCOUS MEMBRANES.
