A 3D miniature re-creation of a beautiful bird's nest...one of my favorite things found in nature.
The nest is made of needle felted wool in various shades of grey. The eggs were hand-formed by me from swirled light blue clay, flecked with brown paint, and tucked into a bit of natural preserved green moss. Wired twig spirals complete the nest, and I attached it to the off-white felt base by needle felting and sewing. Framed in a 3 inch wooden hoop hand painted in cream beige, the nest is suspended by a vintage beige rayon ribbon. This piece is backed in cloudy blue cotton, and the felt & fabric are securely glued to the back edges of the hoop.
This would be especially cute in a grouping, but also looks great by itself to decorate a small space.
