This beautiful and intricate piece developed from my obsession with coral/barnacle/fungus/seed pod shapes. I used a gorgeous secondhand wood plaque as a base, coating it with several layers of apple green paint paint. Then I crocheted each individual piece with a crochet hook and soft spring green yarn. Each piece was carefully arranged and glued onto the base. I used matching paint and yarn to create a dramatic monochromatic effect.
This piece is signed and ready to hang. The plaque has its original metal tooth hanger attached to the back.
Measures approximately 13 x 10 inches (33 x 25 cm).
The wood base is gorgeous with a really cool shape. Because this part of the piece is second hand there may be small imperfections present. The paint does a good job of hiding flaws, but they may exist.
